COI/COC Declaration Support

Supports the completion of mandatory Conflict of Interest (COI)/Conflict of Commitment (COC) declarations, which must be completed by all faculty and principal investigators annually or when appointments or circumstances change substantially.

QReserve Inventory Tool

QReserve is an online UBCO research asset inventory tool. The QReserve platform connects institutional equipment databases across Canada and allows users to explore available equipment, services, and facility research areas and then to contact laboratories for more information. It functions as a platform to reserve equipment by external users and features both ‘wish list’ and ‘buy/sell’ applications.

Human Ethics Review: Behavioural

Supports the process of obtaining required BREB (behavioural research ethics board) review and approval for any research involving human subjects. Researchers will be able to access ethics applications through the Researcher Information Services (RISe) website.

Human Ethics Review: Clinical

Supports the process of obtaining required CREB (clinical research ethics board) review and approval for any research that involves surgery, clinical interventions, exercise programs, and/or the analysis of clinical data. Consultations are available for general inquiries, minimal risk post-approval activities, SAEs, and fee payment.

Animal Care Consultation

Consultation service offered to both UBC Okanagan and Vancouver researchers to ensure researchers conform to mandatory guidelines regarding animal care when conducting research involving animals. Assists researchers in obtaining an animal care certificate.

Biohazardous Materials Application (Biosafety Certification)

Consultation service on the application process for all facilities that involve biohazardous materials. Applications are to be reviewed and approved by the UBC Biosafety Committee prior to the start of the research project.

Research Information Services (RISe)

Research Information Services (RISe) is an online research administration tool that allows researchers to interact with their research teams, administrators, and reviewers. RISe also allows researchers to submit and access their ethics applications.

Grant Funding Agency Liaison

A consultation service that supports researchers in asking questions to funding agencies on their behalf. Provides assistance to researchers who are seeking advice/clarification on funding agency programming and advocacy.

Internal Grant/Major Awards and Distinctions Funding Administration & Coordination

A consultation service that supports internal grant administration and applications. This service also provides support for major awards and disctinctions.
