UNIWeb

UNIWeb is an academic research network with CV management. It is a central repository for a researcher’s academic history. UNIWeb is a tool that gives researchers the ability to collaborate with colleagues in secure and private networks, streamline funding applications with Canadian Common CV (CCV) syncing capabilities, and manage and track the outputs of research groups and projects.

QReserve Inventory Tool

QReserve is an online UBCO research asset inventory tool. The QReserve platform connects institutional equipment databases across Canada and allows users to explore available equipment, services, and facility research areas and then to contact laboratories for more information. It functions as a platform to reserve equipment by external users and features both ‘wish list’ and ‘buy/sell’ applications.

Human Ethics Review: Behavioural

Supports the process of obtaining required BREB (behavioural research ethics board) review and approval for any research involving human subjects. Researchers will be able to access ethics applications through the Researcher Information Services (RISe) website.

Human Ethics Review: Clinical

Supports the process of obtaining required CREB (clinical research ethics board) review and approval for any research that involves surgery, clinical interventions, exercise programs, and/or the analysis of clinical data. Consultations are available for general inquiries, minimal risk post-approval activities, SAEs, and fee payment.

Animal Care Consultation

Consultation service offered to both UBC Okanagan and Vancouver researchers to ensure researchers conform to mandatory guidelines regarding animal care when conducting research involving animals. Assists researchers in obtaining an animal care certificate.

Virtual Meeting Room (VMR) Service

The VMR (virtual meeting room) service is a customer consultation for videoconferencing, desktop user mobile devices, and hardware based videoconferencing rooms.

Direct Room-to-Room VC

Room-based video conferencing designed for groups of people located in physical rooms.

Recording and/or Webcasting/Live-Streaming: MediaSite

Mediasite is a video platform that enables the recording of presentations. Mediasite has features that allow recording and playback of two sources, for example your PowerPoint and yourself through your webcam or other connected Camera. Mediasite can process your recorded PowerPoint slides to enable viewers to click through the slides on playback, and even do a word search on the text in all the slides.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft (MS) Teams is a collaboration tool for groups to create content and share the information they need to work together. The tool is operated by Microsoft as part of their MS 365 suite. MS Teams enables users across the University to connect via instant messaging, video conferencing, online meetings, and simultaneously work on a document in real-time together.

Dropbox

Dropbox is a file hosting service that provides cloud storage, file synchronization, and can be used as a file-sharing service.
